My online store has been under construction for nearly a year and we’re finally approaching the grand unveiling! My entire limited collection is going up on the site, including many pieces that have only been available at in-person Craft Shows up to now. Everything will be 15% off through the end of June, no discount code needed, discount applied automatically! Each item in the Sample Sale is pay-what-you-wish with a suggested range in the item description. The low end of the range is the minimum price I will accept (the high end is not a limit, you are absolutely welcome to pay more). I am running this sale to help boost sales during the slow summer season and to invest in my studio.

The items in the sample sale include:
discontinued designs (old stock)
samples made as practice, class demos, or design development
seconds (imperfect pieces that would otherwise be stock)
abandoned designs
experiments and pieces made for pure fun—many from my time at Penland earlier this year!

All sample-sale items are sold as-is and are not returnable; if you have any questions about a piece you are welcome to get in touch with me before making your purchase!

I spent March and (most of) April on Penland’s beautiful campus in the mountains of North Carolina attending Erica Moody’s Workshop: Balancing the Spoon.

The Penland Spring Concentration was an unparalleled opportunity to narrow my focus, quiet my busy mind and busy schedule, and nurture one area of my practice through concerted time, effort, and instruction. I am proud to contribute to the metalsmithing, jewelry, and craft field through multiple avenues—teaching, studio management, curation, and making my own work—but this multi-focus approach necessarily divides my time and attention.

I have lately been shifting my business to focus more on objects and housewares. I’ve found wonderful connection with audiences and customers over housewares and have been enjoying delving deeper into that facet of my studio practice. I have long admired Erica Moody’s beautiful work and ethos, so the aligned timing of this workshop with my shifting focus was kismet!

So what did I actually do for two months at Penland?

This was my fourth time going to Penland, and each time I have been supported by a scholarship of one type or another. Each short stay has greatly impacted my life and my work, sparking rapid growth and bringing incredible artists into my life. It may be no exaggeration to say that every single artist I’ve met through Penland has inspired me. Some have become close friends and colleagues who continue to inspire and support me. I adore craft, I could talk about it all day everyday (and kind of do) and it is singly nourishing to surround myself with individuals who care as passionately about their crafts and the field as I do. I believe that the work we do Matters. And if you’re following me here I hope you do too! I’ll be spending the first half of 2025 expanding and refining my housewares collections. I’m working away in the studio now getting ready for American Craft Made Baltimore

As American Craft Council’s Flagship Craft Show this enormous show features nearly 400 artists andI highly recommend visiting for multiple days to make the most of it!

Right after the ACC show in Baltimore I’ll be traveling down to Penland to spend 8 weeks as a student in Erica Moody’s Balancing the Spoon: Metal Craft and Studio Practice.

From the course description: With utensil making as the framework, students will explore how our craft can foster play and awareness of our surroundings. The workshop aims to use this nice, long time frame to both upset and balance our practices as we inspire and support each other.

I’m excited to spend this time immersed in creative community, learning, creating, and connecting over one of my favorite topics, the spoon.
